Readings from Transitions 2 and music from Maiuko at The Dragon Café

Picture
The Dragon Café is Mental Fight Club’s latest creative project:
a relaxing café and imaginative space, open to all, located in the
Crypt of St George the Martyr Church, opposite Borough tube
station. The creative director of Mental Fight Club is Sarah Wheeler ,
one of the contributors to Transitions 2 which was launched at the
Folkestone Book Festival in November 2012.
To launch the search for contributors to Transitions 3 which we intend
to publish in May 2013. We are staging readings from Transitions 2 with
music from the Afro-jazz singerMaiuko a contributor to both Transitions 1
and 2.
Transitions 3 invites people to write about their journey into mental illness
and their recovery from it. By turning back to myth perhaps we can look
forward to a greater story of which we are part, and by understanding
the universal aspect
of our own personal experience be freed from its constraints.
Our theme will be Ascent. Recovery.
Transformation. Reintegration.

‘So much good writing is in itself a form of health’
